John Beck Steel

John Beck didn’t always know what he was meant to do, but his hands did. From digging into high school art classes to crafting one-off projects at a welding job, he spent years circling his true love: steel. For him, steel is about history - an organic material with a challenging, confrontational beauty and a past not everyone can appreciate. Those who see it? They’re his people. His designs reflect an unyielding devotion to simplicity: the work concentrated into essence, beauty in its most straightforward form. Each angle and edge is purposeful, each curve essential, as unadorned as the raw material that gives it form. Each piece harkens back to its creator: a misfit. An unlikely contender. A challenging form who fits perfectly into his space.

John’s work is available through his website, with selected works available at Lightology, 2 Modern, and Lumens.
