Beltshazzar

Theresa Wangia doesn’t just create jewelry; she creates powerful, wearable moments of time and place. Immersed in fashion from a very young age and a lifelong lover of travel, she began crafting jewelry as a hobby during her modeling career, pulling inspiration from wherever she landed. Her work garnered instant attention, and years later she parlayed that hobby into Beltshazzar Jewels, where she channels her life experiences into wearable art with a global feel.

The collection’s aesthetic is bold and primal; born of raw materials like bone, mineral, leather, and horn, meticulously sourced from around the world, each piece as unique as the elements it is created from. Her goal is not to simply adorn, but to transform; bringing vibrant, palpable energy to those who wear her work. Most notable is the balance: by mixing color, texture and material, Theresa’s work is both strong and playful, a mix of sharp and soft, and always with an edge, much like those she designs for.

Theresa makes her home in St. Louis, and her collection can be found at the St. Louis History Museum, Soft Surroundings, and boutiques around the city and beyond.
