Hi Amy, what gets you out of bed in the morning?
Working for myself, knowing that I’m the one responsible for making it happen, is my biggest drive. The second is having the opportunity to turn what comes naturally to me into a career. Creating beautiful content for my clients and audience excites me every day.

How do you push through creative blocks or periods of low motivation?
Over the past few years of working for myself, I’ve learned a lot. Whenever I feel unmotivated or discouraged, nature always brings me back to center. Long walks with my dog or bike rides help me reset. I think best when I’m in motion, so I make time every day for both nature and movement.

Who has been your greatest mentor, and what was the most valuable lesson they taught you?

Oh, wow. I’ve had different mentors throughout my life, and each one has been pivotal at the time I needed them most. I’m constantly growing into the next chapter, and I’ve found invaluable guidance by seeking out mentors who are a few steps ahead of me.

What moment or decision has most profoundly changed the trajectory of your life or career?

I feel like I’ve lived several lives. Each time I’ve taken the leap to leave my current reality and step into the next chapter, it’s been both terrifying and rewarding. From leaving my small hometown to leaving a stable career to start my own business, to transitioning from tabletop work to directing and positioning myself where my career can reach the next level—it’s all been part of my growth journey.

What inspires you about St. Louis?

Oh my goodness, St. Louis has my heart—it’s truly a hidden gem. First of all, my best friend, my 91-year-old grandmother, is here, and we are STL proud. Secondly, Forest Park is hands down the best park in the world—I’ve never found anything quite like it. The city’s rich history, from its days as a port city during the Louisiana Purchase, is still alive in the architecture and landscape. There’s an ease about St. Louis that makes everything you need accessible and effortless.

What’s your current cultural obsession?

Don’t even get me started—I’m so passionate about learning about the Indigenous cultures of the people who were on this land before us. I hope to tell the stories of Indigenous people—past, present, and future.

What’s one hobby or activity you’ve recently discovered or deepened your interest in?

I’ve recently taken up biking as a serious sport. I never do anything halfway, and this is no exception. I’m currently training for a century race in 2025—100 miles!
